Duas for Shifa

Qur’an is a miracle that God revealed to His Prophet, and it is a human blessing. The Quran is not only a guide for humanity but for every type of pain, Allah has made it spiritual healing.

The Creator told us specifically that the Quranic word is a “Shifa” (healing) for all and that, therefore, if used with real trust in the heart, this method of treatment may provide a miracle cure for any sort of disease, including Treatment of all world-wide problems and physical and psychological problems.

In the Quran Allah says:

And We send down of the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe. (Quran, Surah Al-Israa, 17:82)

The Prophet (SAW) said the following, we find in a Saheeh hadeeth:

And he said: “God has not sent down any sickness, but He has also sent down the remedy. He, who understands it, understands it, and the one who does not know it, doesn’t know.” “For each sickness, there is a medicine, and, if it put to the sickness, it will recover by Allah’s Leave.”

Quranic Verses and Dua used for Treatment

Most Quranic verses and Dua are known to us from both the Quran and Sunnah and used for all types of Treatment. Some of the Quranic verses and DUAs are given below.

Healing, and Schifa from the Qur’an and Sunnah, has become more comprehensive, by letsreadQuran.

Hazard Ayesha (R.A.) claimed that:

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to rub the pain area reciting the following dua when any one of them had an illness:

أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ وَاشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءٌ لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمَاً

“O Lord of the people, remove this pain and cure it, You are the one who cures, and there is no one besides You who can cure, grant such a cure that no illness remains.”

“Ayesha (R.A.) also said that he used the four Quls to recite, blow on his hands and cross them back and forth, as Prophet Mohammad (SAW) was sick, and he recited them, blew on his hands and moved them across his body in the fatal disease.”(Muslim, Bukhari)

Recite Sura Al-Faatihah

As mentioned by the Prophet, Sura Al-Faatihah has peculiar blessedness (SAW). The Prophet (SAW) in one hadeeth said it was the Quran’s greatest surah. This surah can use to prevent evil and to cure in general. This surah often referred to in other portions of the Quran.

Consider Surah Al-Hijr’s following verse:

“And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e., Surah Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran” (Surah Al-Hijr, 15:87).

Recite Mu’wadaitain for Healing

The Arabian term “Mu’wadaitain” refers to Surah Al- Falaq and Surah An-Naas, the last two surahs of the Qur’an.

The Prophet’s ahadith tell us very explicitly that both surah’s have revealed for defense against various kinds of evils.

Ibn Al-Qayyum said, “these surah’s have great efficiency in repelling magicalness, the evil eye, and the other evils and that a slave’s need to seek safety from the two surah’s is greater than his need for self, food, dryness, and clothes” (Al-Fawwaid, 2/426).
